I was hoping someone knew of an application that allowed you to adjust the thresh hold of a line to smooth it out. so lets say your making a curve like the hood of a car, even if its a bit wobbly it will snap into the curve using its points based on a thresh hold to make it smooth.

i know i had an application like this along time ago but i dont remember its name. I think maybe its fireworks but I cant be certain.

Sounds like you're looking for a CAD or a vector art program. I don't have much experience with CAD, but I do know that Inkscape is a great vector art program that will do b-splines and other curves to make things smooth.

yea i guess similar to a vector program. like a pen tool that behaves like a spline. I will check out and see if inkscape will do what i want. i really didnt want to have to lay down splines though i wanted to interactively draw them like a pen tool without marking out the points.
