I'm downloading a range of disk imaging progs for backing up a Turion system. I notice that most of the software system requirements usually only specify a particular level of Pentium/Intel processor. Is this because software makers expect that most vendors are pentium users and thus specify for the majority, or does the software just not run on AMD systems?

Hoping someone can help. This is my first AMD machine!

The software does run on AMD processors.

Almost every program I've ever seen will list the specs as xxx GHz Pentium processor, or equivalent. That latter is the key.
