    quick lanuch buttons not starting with windows

    all the buttons start up all the time. but on some occasions network and volume are conspicuously absent.

    That's not quick launch, that's the system tray.

    Anyways... right-click the taskbar > Properties > Notification Area tab > Under "System Icons", make sure Volume and Network are checked.

    There is also a way to force a full refresh of the system tray. A search here at NBR should locate a post or two that describes the process.

    I got to thinking about the QuickLaunchButtons again and uninstalled them (after downloading the executable to install them again if I choose to do so).

    The little blue lit up buttons (e.g.: mute; volume up/down) still function.
