after freely upgrading to windows 10 for about 10 days
i feel that the whole windows 10 appearance is very nice
However, today I managed the folders and files, simply cutting and pasting some files to new folders and deleting some folders, I could feel that it was a bit more lagged than when I was using windows 7.
Files are building up in my computer every day. Cutting and Pasting and managing files and folders are one of my important tasks with the computer
It's said windows 10 consumes less system resources and should be faster than windows 7
anything I can do to improve the overall performance in windows 10 or should I downgrade to windows 7?
Some of my friends said they had downgraded

Since W10 does a lot of telemetry on file's and their names etc. there is bound to be additional lag. You may notice when opening office files that there is a delay in the app launching as compared to opening the file from within the native app. As far as I know this has been an issue since launch and M$ won't even acknowledge the issue, so get used to it..............

Or if I should put more RAM to my computer?
RAM here is not really expensive. -
I have found even with 16GB of ram this issue persists. It doesn't on the same machine with W7. Will they fix it, I think first they a have to admit there is a problem, peple having the issue are treated as if they have a non fixable fluke issue.

Today I have spent another few hours managing the files in windows 10. The only thing I was doing was to cut and paste to different directory only on the same drive, not even "copying". It was very lagged.
Because of that, I starting to hate windows 10 and want to downgrade now, however, before that, any attempt I can do to first to try to boost up the PC before taking the final step of downgrading to win7?? -
the only thing I can say is that I have noticed before the system fully boots and obtains all network connections it works relatively properly. This could be telemetry or one drive etc.. I can tell you this is one of my primary complaints, this is an OS and should handle files with speed and ease.

Didn't Microsoft find out the serious problem when they launched the operating system? Did they only test the environment with their super computers??
I think I will downgrade to windows 7 in a few days. -
I can not tell you what they were thinking. You can look all over the net and even at their own answer forums and there are complaints of similar issues especially with out side apps including their own office. M$ summarily dismisses it and never a proper answer. With IE11 it is horrible where multiple ads use flash, it is just horrendous. Even older ARM Android tablets just blow away the day to day performance of a full fledged W10 laptop, it is just pitiful.
I am comparing my W10 Nextbook 11a to my older Android 5.0 Nexus 10 in internet use above.Raiderman likes this. -
I have found something. My primary laptop started getting lagged by some files in office. I atibute this to the fact I let all updates in since the free offer is gone. Come to find out if I disable the printer software (HP Image Monitor) it gets rid of the lag from my main system.in W7. I tried this in the W10 Nextbook and it helps somewhat. So there is still a bit of a slowdown but it is not as bad.
Apparently telemetry and my printer software are having conflicts. It may be something for others to check out as well, some other software could be hanging up. I started tracking this all down when I found out things improved in file handling speed when the network was disconnected and telemetry was then off for a bit, turn the WAN back on and performance suffered.. -
I have further questions about Internet Explorer that comes with my Windows 10 upgrade. I do not know if the version of it.
However, when I login some banking or high security websites which require plugins or verfication something with IE , it cannot login. It repeats to the login screen even I am with totally correct login information. After repeating to enter the login details for many times at least it brought me into the control panel.
Is it an example of the IE issue on widnwos 10? -
Selecting a couple of files to cut, copy or delete, VERY LAGGED. I decided to downgrade to windows 10 but windows warned me that I would have to enter the password to log into the windows 7, in case I forget the password I will not be able to login. Yes, I have forgot the password for windows 7
quite lagged in handling folders and documents
