Extract the files, then burn them? Why do you need to make it into an image?

I don't think Window's built in CD burning application can actually burn CD images onto discs (the files within the image that is).
I personally use Nero to do all my CD burning, and if I wanted to burn a CD image I just select Burn image to disc option and then select the image I want to burn. I'm sure that all other CD burning software have this option.

Now, back to topic, the RAR file mentioned by the topic starter is probably the CD image. Because your computer does not have applications installed which recognise the .iso or .cue or whatever, it is treated as a WinRAR archive.

WinRAR would recognize the ISO, but the icon would look the same. The icon "looks" like a regular compressed file/folder. If it is an ISO image, you just have to find the correct setting in your burner utility and go to work.

If it's a WinRAR-recognized ISO file, he could extract it and burn the files just like he'd burn all other files.

Or he could just change the extension of the rar file to iso and try with Nero or any other program. It may or may not work; worked for me the other night, however.
