    reformating windows xp

    I have tried to refromat windows xp and have succesfully done so. \but i cannot install Tiscali as it asks for sp1 for xp ? where do i find that ?

    You might have to install Service Pack 1 or 2 before installing Service Pack 3.

    You have to have service pack 1 for XP installed before you can install service pack 3. Microsoft "recommends" that you also have service pack 2 installed, but that is not a mandatory requirement. The reason SP1 is required is that Microsoft no longer provides active support for SP1; by contrast, there are still some business users with long-term extended support contracts that cover SP2, which means that Microsoft still supports SP2 and thus SP2 is incorporated into SP3, and thus that SP2 does not have to be separately installed prior to installing SP3.
