Remote Desktop (built-in Windows function) or UltraVNC, which requires a client and server.

If you're going to use and remote control a Windows PC, the built-in remote desktop is the best choice, you won't have to install anything.

VNC is cross platform, you can use it on Mac OS, GNU/Linux and also Windows.

    TeamViewer works on Vista.

As you obviously know two possebilities - I personally like and recommend TeamViewer - I'm not sure what exactly your problem is.

Remote Desktop is another possebility, in some cases it doesn't want to work though - I'm not sure why.

In a conversation about remote control software I'm surprised no one has mentioned Proxy Networks' Proxy Pro 6. Yes, it's enterprise grade so you do have to pay for it, but it's worth it. Think about security issues, especially if you're using it for commercial reasons. Also, I don't know of any other such software where you can browse through the controlled computer's hardware list.

    Regards...

I tried TeamViewer yesterday, it was very easy to use and setup.

BUT, it kept hanging everytime I right clicked on a tasbar icon on my friend's computer! tried connecting/disconnecting but that didn't help..... :(
