Does anyone know if tune-xp is safe to use on a Toshiba laptop because Toshiba laptops have a seperate power managment system. Would registry tweaks by tune-xp corrupt the power managment system and result in me not being able to start my computer?

I can't answer your question, but I would be interested as well to find out. I have an Acer Aspire 1691 which comes with the standard Acer softwrare that manages multiple functions...power options...network settings....etc. After running tuneXP my machine seemed to be running slower than before, perhaps due to a conflict or something that tuneXP shut down that was needed. I'm going to monitor the performance over the next few days, then maybe restore to before I ran the program if the sluggishness continues.

What happened was for some reason my two power managment programs conflicted and I was not able to bring my computer out of stand-by but I was able to restart. I had to reinstall Toshiba Powersaver for it to work again. So what I'm wondering is whether a registry tweak that causes a faster shutdown or start-up (both of which are power related) will corrupt the registry and I'll lose all my data.

You can always set a restore point and try it.

I have never had a problem with TuneXP. It would not affect your power settings - they're just registry tweaks. I have used TuneXp on my Dell Dimension (WinXPP), Laptop #1 (XPH), Laptop #2 (XPP + XPPx64). Never run into a problem!
safety of tune-xp
