The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    save a website

    basically need something to save a website (including links on the site). All i can do within firefox is save a page, but the links on that pg arent saved. Anyone know any way to do this?

    You know, if you follow the all the links far enough, you're going to have to download the entire internet... :)

    That said, Firefox and IE both have options to save a full website ("HTML, complete", I think the option is called). The result doesn't always end up looking like the online version because modern websites have much more complex features than the mechanism can handle (pulling in a ton of different stylesheets and javascript files, for example), but it should still grab a website for you. Or at least the current page plus any immediate links on it

    Save as "WebPage, complete" ought to do it.

    "Webpage, complete" only saves the current page

    you can use the Synchronize tool in IE to sync a page along with a specific links down from it, or you can try to find some software that does it (hint: Pitabred's post)
