i recently installed vista on my desktop but after install, the screen has only a max resolution of 1440x900 wich it supposed to be 1680x1050. now the screen image doesnt span through the whole lcd area but with a black border...

the lcd monitor driver is the latest when i try to update the driver as well as the video card driver.

i have a dell lcd monitor plugged on digital output and a samsung crt for analog using ati radeon 9800 pro if that helps..

    thanks in advance

if u r using ati catalyst, i recommend that u try 7.1, since 7.2 ati has a nasty way of "deciding" what is the best resolution under vista and stops at 1440x900 (the other is 1240x1024) - this is a vista issue more than ati

ati drivers works fine under XP.

    cheers ...
