hello guys, my friend got a macbook and it has a rly nice feature. when you name people on a picture (like u have all your friends on a picture and give them their names) , you can search (like windows search in the startmenu) and it will show all pictures where this person is on. I wonder if such a thing is possible on win7 ?

    thanks

Perhaps Picasa does it. The default photo viewer does not do it though.

get Windows Live Photo Gallery, remember how vista had things like 'Fix'? it all got moved to Live Photo Gallery (so Microsoft wouldn't get sued for having preinstalled their own software (something like the dispute in Europe about having internet explorer preinstalled), Live Photo Gallery has all the tagging, face recognition (works really well), fix, and other features, plus it integrates seamlessly into Windows 7 and is simple and clean

okay i jsut tested it. its not was i was looking for.

u have to tag every guy. on the mac´s u just tag the face on one picture and then every other picture with that face will be automatically known.

So e.g. i have a photo with my whole class. I give every face a name.
Then i go to the folder where to photos from our class trips are in, search for the guy called "Thomas" and all pictures with thomas will be shown.

In live photo gallery u have to mark the face on every pic.. its like a simple tag :S

picassa 3.6 (i think thats the version) has this feature its like what youve seen in iphoto 09. picassas versions is nt as niffy as the iphoto one but its stilll works well and will do what you wnat.
it will come up with suggestions and you can click on it and select them all or just the ones that are that face

There isn't a facial recognition feature like that on Windows Live Gallery. I don't know of any free software that will do it atm.
