I was just wondering if there is a good program out there that can measure my CPU clock speed, memory usage and performance, HD speed, and so on. I'm not exactly looking for an over clocking program, jsut one that measures my system performance better than the task manager.

I await your input and thank all who reply in advance.

Is anyone going to answer? Did I phrase the question wrong? Is this question not worth answering?

It was aday and an hour, but that doesn't really matter. I was just in a bit of a hurry and was worried i would have yet another dead end post. I know that there are plenty of post that don't get answered I just didn't want this one to share the same fate.

It doesn't seem to be a free program. I need one that won't cost me anything.

It kinda depends how much work you want to do.
Sisoft Sandra is more of a benchmarking program than a monitoring.
Notebook Hardware Control (NHC) is probably the most popular on these forums since, well, it's made for notebooks. Decent little app for monitoring.
Samurize is one that has a heck of a lot of potential, but requires you to configure it to your needs.
MotherBoard Monitor works well for desktops, but not laptops.
SpeedFan is also popular around here for temp and fan control.

I use NHC to check things on my laptop, and Samurize w/ MBM on my desktop.

Read a bit deeper. There is a free and a full version. The free version is the widest used tool to measure system performance.

If all you want to do is monitor, than try cpu-z

Can someone give me some info on the necessity of this?

I am just curious as to the exact point of it. Obviously to measure CPU, but the performance tab in Windows Task Manager gived you the current CPU useage.

What is the difference between say NHC and Windows Task Mananger?

    Thanks for the help.

Sorry, I don't speak spanish, but I'll try to clear it up for you.
Taskmanager only shows how much of the CPU is being used at that given time. NHC gives you the operating speed, voltage use, CPU load and the temperature of the cpu. It also monitors the the hard drive, battery, graphics card, and time that has occured since you booted up your computer. Instead of haveing to access the task manager NCH displays the CPU speed and load, and the battery life in the system tray at the bottom of the screen. If you want to know the exact temperature of the cpu or hd or the cpu load or voltage you can simply pass you mouse over the icon in the tray.

    hope this helps
