At the moment, go for Vista x64 as 7 is only in beta stages (not that it is unstable, but you'll have to reinstall once the testing date passes by). A 64-bit OS increases the maximum amount of addressable RAM, but that doesn't mean it has a minimum. Vista x64 will run with 2GB just fine.

64-bit Vista also does more than just let you use higher amounts of RAM, don't forget. :)

Also don't forget that using 32-bit with over 3 GBs of RAM will actually slow your system.

You should probably wait until Win7 is actually released to market.

    @ mintyfresh94-

The Windows 7 version that is currently released is, as others have pointed out, the beta version. Microsoft does not recommend that people use this OS as their primary OS. Because of this, I agree with the others when they say stick with Vista. If you have another computer that you wish to try the Beta out on, I say go for it. People seem to have good things to say about its stability and reliability, especially for being a beta. Here is a link to the Windows 7 download page ( http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/ ). The download link will only be active for another week or so and once the beta period expires Aug. 1 you will need to reinstall your previous OS.

    Cheers,
