I normally use Paint.NET , but it does not support my scanner , a Canon lidl 35 , just a nice easy program, free would be nice.
I know there are a few in the free software section, but i dont want to install half a dozen apps.
PS. I use Vista32

Just tried it the scanner/aquire is blanked out, but my scanner tests as working in control panel/scanners and cameras

If you have MS Office, you can use the scanner application there and transfer it to whatever paint program you're using.

I managed to get it working, you cannot scan within a paint program, you have to use Canon own scanner software and it transfers the image to the selected paint application.
It works anyway.
