Ok i've got sky email on both my pc's which work fine but now when I try to set it up on the m1730 after about 3hrs trying to sort it out I can only manage to get it to send emails but not receive. I've search online for answers and tried many things but it either gets worse, by that I mean unable to send anything or a different error message.

I've tried connecting using an ethernet cable as well as wireless.

The error message I receive is 0x8004210A : the operation timed out waiting
for a responce from (pop) server in you continue to receive this mesage, contact your server administrator or isp.

I've got nod32 and zone alarm install but i've already disable both and tried and it's the same problem.

    any ideas?

    Moved.

Double check the POP settings are correct. (Address/Port, Username and password)

Also try disabling windows firewall if its enabled.

Apologies for posting in the wrong section.

I've disable the vista firewall and it still doesn't work. I've copied the exact setting for setting up outlook onto the laptop. And I guess what really is going to suck is that i'm sure it's something silly, but i'm coming into my 8th hr of trying to solve the mystery :(

    I need more coffee
