not sure were to post this

i like to put my notebook to sleep instead of turning it off, i love the way windows starts in less than 1 sec ^^.
ive been doing this pretty much since i have my lappy: 2 years
(this means: i havnt turned off my computer for 2 years... just rebooted when needed by programs)
is this bad for the computer?

and also i dont take my notebook to much around and when i use it its plugged in.. is this bad for the battery? what should i do to preserve it?

    Thanks!!

please post with some sort of proof? i mean not just oh yeah its bad and thats all ^^

    THanks!

Uh,,, that sounds damaging but it wont lead to system failure dont worry, itll only decrease system performance, and the battery life will dry up. and i think u meant "instead of turning it off." Its not that much of a good thing to do.

There is nothing wrong with putting your computer in sleep mode instead of turning it off.

As for the battery, check out the battery guide.

hmm probably doesn't improve the life is system components, I'd invest in air in a can to clean out the vents thoroughly.
