This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    small annoyance in firefox

    ok this is really annoying. when i try to type an apostraphe on some message boards i get the quick find bar on the bottom of the browser window. is there anything i can do to turn this off. also happens in facebook.

    my FF version is 3.5.3 and what do you mean by keybord layout? im on a laptop if it matters.

    Go in the address bar. Type about:config, accept the warning notice, right click anywhere then click new, boolean and type searchkeys.disable.all and set the value to true. That should fix your problem.
