I was playing dystopia (a hl2 mod) and it crashed. I found this kinda strange and when I tried to reboot I was not able to get into any safemode or any kind of launch at all. So as we speak I am attempting to recover some of my important files with a linux install. Before the crash I had installed the latest Compal sound card drivers so that may have had something to do with it. This really sucks because I've had this computer for 4 days...

Any suggestions? Is there a way I can repair or reinstall windows without a completel reformat?

Where exactly during the boot up process does it stop booting? Do you get any blue screens or anything? Does your Linux work?

It shows the XP bootsplash and the little loading bar goes across 1 and a half times then it shows a blue screen for a split second and then crashes back to POST

I called powernotebooks and Donald helped me get it straightened out. I did end up having to reformat but 5 hours later I've got it back to where it was. The only question on my mind is why it happened...
