This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     My girlfriends laptop has a soundcard issue I believe... I've troubleshooted as much as I could, but I can't quite figure out why no sound is generated from her computer. Can anyone recommend a Sound Card Diagnostic program (preferably free)? Thanks.

    DXDiag is built into windows. It's at least a start, it'll let you know if it's a Direct Sound issue.
