im on my inspiron 6400 and i connected my guitar amp to the microphone port/hole and im not gettin any sound at all. i dont have a microphone to test this port also.

the audio drivers are sigmatel and the only volume controls i have are 'volume control', 'wave', 'sw synth' and 'cd player' for playback and 'line in' and 'microphone' for recording.

usually i know there are more volume controls but im thinking maybe its becuase of the laptop

any help would be appreciated, thanks

Are you sure the input sound - that is for the mic - is not on mute or that it is not set very low?

What recording program are you using?
