You can look at some of the things in this thread: NBR Member Vista Tips and Tweaks Guide

Main things that will help speed up your PC: disabling unneeded startup programs, defragmenting your hard drive, and disabling the workstation service. Also, disabling indexing can speed up your computer a lot, but it slows down searches. It's best to index only the areas that you search often.

Defrag and Optimize your computer and disable unnecessary startup programs. It's probably the most effective way to speed up your computer like it was almost new.

Also make sure ur pc is free of viruses and spywares. Thats also the key problem as you are unaware of those stuff installed in your PC.

Yeah. I was misguided. I have tried that software before and its not that good and not that bad. If I were you, I would go with Vista Manager. This software is awesome or XP manager if you have Windows XP. Goto www.yamicsoft.com

Plenty of informative threads and posts regarding "speeding up your pc", no need to pay for a "speed up my PC" utility

    *good eyes Gary*

    cheers ...

Most of these sorts of applications are nothing more than snake oil. My favorite offender is the late night commercials for "Finally Fast". The one where the kid goes crying to his mom, "Mom this computer is sooooo sloooow."

    Buyer beware.

I can recommend a commercial "speed-up" program called BoostSpeed by Auslogics. It comes with a large selection of tools and utilities, is safe to use, decently priced and has a positive effect on system speed and health. Recommended! Other than that, I'd say stay away from Norton programs, as they usually slow things down instead of speeding things up. As to SpeedUpMyPc, I've never heard of it before reading this thread... Ain't gonna try it either... as I have no use for it ;)
