    This is possible.
If you right-click the 'Downloads' item in the Start Menu, go to Properties, it will have a tab called 'Location'. From there, you can select your Downloads Library.

Don't use find target, use 'change location'.

There is a button to MOVE the folder. Use it to MOVE location of the downloads folder to one of your choice.

    You are doing something wrong!

Create a folder on the C drive, root.

Go to Move and select the folder I am talking about. It will work.

you can't 'move to a library', as a library is a COLLECTION of folders. with one of the collection being c:\users\you\downloads

still interesting, have to play around with it a bit :)

i want to link it with a library i made. that library includes 2 downloads folder on 2 different hdd´s.

    @davepermen: could u maybe tell me if u find a fix? :)

It is a 2 step procedure. Since as @davepermen Libriary is just a set of folders, you cannot link to the library itself.

You still need to create a folder to which downloadsd will go and the ADD THIS FOLDER to the library.

i think u dont get what i want:

i have a library called downloads
    in this library i have:
    C: downloads/browser
    C: downloads/usenext
    C: downloads/jdownloader
    D: downloads/torrent
    P: downloads /server

When i now press the "downloads" button in the startmenu, i want to see the library with all these folders in it. i know that the library is just a set of folders. And i want to see this set of folders.

I could only add one folder to the downloads button. E.g. i could set it to "C:downloads".. but then i wouldnt see the downloads on D: or P:

I don't think you can link that to the Download Library.

Yeah a little crude, but the Library concept is still young. Plus those links in the Start Menu aren't going to be phased out. Microsoft expected you to use jumplists.

yeah, the properties dialog of, f.e., pictures is completely different to the one of downloads (talking about the shortcuts in the startmenu) showing they're implemented differently.

guess it's not directly possible :( let's dive into the registry and check how they're implemented, then mess everything up till the system is unbootable :p

So why do you want this link to point to the Downloads folder?? You could just add the folder to the Superbar.
