i have a problem on defraging because of a stuck CHKDSK that wont run.
diskeeper won't defrag my harddrive because it says that a CHKDSK is scheduled to run and i have to run it first for diskeeper to defrag my harddrive.
but when i try to restart my computer CHKDSK doesnt run. i also tried to run CHKDSK in windows and it asked me to reboot for it to start. but still it didnt run
now, how can i run or cancel CHKDSK so that i could defrag my hard drive?
any help will be appreciated. thanks in advance
::my OS is XP PRo. there is a hidden partition in my laptop which is the recovery partition (SONY).

i had this problem for a long time
i cant remember what i did
I think I used o o defragger and it cleared the problem, and diskeeper worked from then on. -
Whoa very strange problem qwerty.
See if you can disable the scheduled thread and then try again.
If you can't, then this seems like a windows problem and you might want to reinstall windows. -
i unistalled diskeeper and i used the default defrag(windows). it then says
"Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: (C: ). Please run Chkdsk /f." -
OK, do this: Start button, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Task Scheduler. Remove the chkdsk task and diskeeper task from task scheduler.
Now, reboot. Open a Command Prompt and run chkdsk /r, then reboot. The option /f only repairs the disk structure, /r also maps out bad sectors. It will take some time. I suspect that your HD might be failing and /r will find at least bad sectors, giving you some time to back up, if necessary.
Diskeeper has nothing to do with this problem except that, depending on which options you selected, it could need a boot task similar to chkdsk and be in contention with chkdsk.

Make sure your Task Scheduler service is on.
