when i try to shut down windows it gets stuck at a black screen and never shuts down (laptop power is never turned off). i have to manually hold the power button to shut completely off.
any ideas of the problem?![]()

One possible cause is some background running process or even LAN properties not allowing the comp to complete shut down.
cheers ... -
but isn't windows supposed to shut down all the background processes when shutting down the computer?
do you know which LAN properties should I change to prevent windows from shutting down? -
Review your NIC device properties making sure that "wake up on LAN" (allow this device to wake up computer) is being checked off.
