this question has probably been asked before, but it's difficult for me to find a sure fix for it:

i want to completely turn off sync center and syncing with wmp11, all together. i want to do it from inside the registry, where i know the changes will stick and kill the startup of these features of the OS...can anyone please post a link or the correct entries in the registry that would take care of this ?

Uh... why don't you just not use it?

If you just want to make it not start automatically and not ask you about it when you plug in a device, go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > AutoPlay and change all the settings to "Take no action".

As far as making Vista unable to perform a sync when requested... I don't know of a way to do that.
