i ran into a few computer problems with my windows freezing on start up, so i decided to take the easy way out and do a system restore. i've never done a system restore ever, but was pleased to see an easy step by step method through windows

i chose to rollback to sunday. my computer acted up on tuesday at about 3 am ( i remember this for sure ) and sunday was the closest system checkpoint. i chose the date, hit next and then windows shut down and did its thing. but then shortly after it says restoration was incomplete and that it could not restore my system. it didn't give a reason for the error either

i tried it again with last friday's system checkpoint and it still didn't work. same error.

i've never tweaked with any system restore settings and i've never disabled it or lowered the disk usage space of it. why isn't it working?

Sometimes there are things that prevent system restore from working correctly. Hopefully, someone will come in and explain what happens.

Yeah I had the same problem. When I do a manual restore point it seems to work fine. But when I try to do a restore I get an error like your's. Fortunately mine isn't bad enough to need a full restore. I need to do a full backup soon just in case.

. tried the restore in safemode?
. (unlikey but) sometimes some background process(es) like av or firewall might block it

    cheers ...
