Not sure if this topic is taboo, but the post I found about this topic are closed. I'm trying to load XP Pro on my X205 SLI1, and obviously it wont work with out drivers. I have looked everywhere for the drivers to do this and cannot find any links to drivers that work. I need to get my laptop running with XP for work. It's the only OS I can connect to 3g and 4g equipment. Any help with drivers would be much appreciated.

Where in the process are you stuck? Are you unable to even install XP? Or has it installed successfully, but you need the individual hardware drivers?

If you have not been able to install XP, there are many tutorials online. Quickly put, you need to slipstream the SATA drivers for your machine into the XP installation so that it will recognize your HDD. XP does not natively support SATA, so this must be done for it to work.

If it's hardware drivers... well... you gotta visit each manufacturer's site and download them. Perhaps your laptop maker has some of the XP drivers you need.

We can be more specific in helping you when we know exactly where you're stuck in the process.

I'm not able to install XP pro it tells me to plug in the hard drives that it cannot find.. I need the drivers so I can slip stream onto an install disc. My laptop is the Toshiba X205 SLI1 I have been to the Toshiba site and cannot find the correct drivers. I did find post on this site where people zipped up all the drivers needed for my laptop and provided a link. now the links are dead and the topic is locked so I cannot reply to it.

You need the chipset drivers from Intel's support site. It will take a few tries to get it done right.

driverpacks.net is the place to go for, well, drivers that can be slipstreamed into legitimately owned and licensed XP discs.

Their utility and process is NOT noob friendly but if you try things out for yourself and don't go whining about failures (successes are good!) the community there can be pretty helpful.

As is doing first round testing on virtual machines just to make sure that your modified XP install will at least boot up.
