There are so many processes running which I haven't even heard the names of. I CBF to search for them and find out whether they are viruses or not, because that's your job.
As for "FF" using so much memory, it's because it's a second grade, wannabe, also-ran browser. Use a real browser, like Opera. And if you don't like it, use IE 8. -
Windows can have that many processes running. Such you use HijackThis and post a log to one of the major antispyware forums for further analysis
-
hhah yea rite Mozilla kicks the living CRAP outta every browser. end of discussion...

200mb really isn't much.
Neither is 46 processes - if they're actually useful (and the majority of them probably are), then it shouldn't really be a concern. I mean, are you really at a point where you're running out of memory or CPU power if you have a 2ghz C2D and 4GB RAM? -

What a load of bull**** its using that much memory because he has load of addons installed. -
Please don't bypass the language filter. I'll find a nice plugin for you which read'll out rules every once in a while.

opera FTW but firefox is gotta be my choice for NBR due to spell check

If you need the addon installed on firefox, but with the addon, it makes firefox slow and memory hogging, doesn't it defeat the point of FF being fast and light? -
well..
just had to forcefully shutdown some app today n then only i noticed this big list there
thanks.. actually never seemed to be having a problem of machine running slow..

I suggest you go to the Sysinternals site and get Process Explorer. It will display the same info you get in task manager plus a lot more detail like where each of those processes was loaded from and how it was loaded. This often times helps you to determine what a process REALLY is as the names are often USELESS in that regard.

So what? I have an average of 69 running (LOL).
-
Well, I hope your comp doesnt get "washed up" after doing these many processes
-
Hell, I'm at 66 processes and my laptop is brand new
But I have rmclock and other stuff running.
My firefox takes about 130 000k, and that's with 2-3 addons and a theme. Yours must be packed lol
You can look into the xp tweaks page, I'm sure there is a topic on cleaning your processes. (Though yours aren't really bad) -
You can Google.
-
nah man..just few add ons.. but may be DownloadHelper is eating up big time ..cos its always running
-
Opera has a spell-checker built in now, cow!
-
" CBF = Can't be forced"
What's wrong?

Not really bypassing it when you can't see it

It is, here!

Not really. Addons don't significantly increase RAM usage; more than likely it's Firefox failing to plug its memory leaks. With Firefox, you should restart it every once in a while to lower its memory usage.
taskmanager got very BIG process list..
