I started out on Altavista, moved on to Metacrawler, but for the last 6 years I've been using Google.

Google is the easiest to use, however, there are better search engines than it. Google is my favorite though.

For your typical search - Google. So overall I rank it the best. For some particular types of searches there are others. For instance, for Russian sites I find Yandex to be better than Google.Ru.

Google -- It has 1000's more websites submitted to it then other search engines such as yahoo. In other words it's the biggest search engine out there, and will pull up the most results. :)

But this really shouldn't go here. It should go in the Software site. Or perhaps the off-topic.

Wisenut is excellent. Unfortunately they're isn't much that compares to Google as much as I strongly dislike that company. I have to admit, I do tend to still use Yahoo first most of the time. When I can't find anything on they're I go to Google and every time I do a promise myself it'll be the last time I 'google' something.

I use Google. It seems to be the only one to deliver consistent relavent searches and quickly. MSN seems to be the worst at accomplishing that. Most of the other search engines I've not used for quite some time or didn't like (Ask and Ask Jeeves).

Before I used yahoo a lot, but then I like how google is really simple. It has nothing but a search bar so that is why I like it. But I do admit yahoo does have a friendly interface for news and stuff, which I really like and use a lot.

I like vivisimo. It sorts every query into subcategories that can help you find what you're looking for quickly.

I have Yahoo! search as my homepage. Google is good and all, but I like to see the news headlines and my Yahoo! mail account status.

If google can't find it, it doesn't exsist...

It's not allways the case, but a good percentage of the time it is.

    Agreed,

I rarely goto another engine cause i know that if google don't find there's slim chance any other search engine will find it.

    Oh google! Fantastic.

AltaVista allows you to specify the boolean search criteria if you wish. So, for many years, it was my choice. But now I tend to use Google, and only use AltaVista when my search criteria is complex.
