In the past 2 days, 11-17 and 11-19, the feared blue screen appeared on my PC, shutting it down and restarting it. On both occasions I was watching a movie with VideoLAN media player. The VideoLAN player is the latest edition with updated drivers. The Windows Vista Home OS is automatically updated and I've installed all the latest updates except for those associated with Live Essentials and Internet Explorer (IE) 8; I've retained IE 7 as I prefer its Favorites management to IE 8. The PC's CPUID monitor showed internal temperatures were well within normal operating ranges around the time of BlueScreeen manifestation; temperatures for hard drive (HD) and nVidia GPU were 36C-38C and 66C-72C respectively. At times of blue death, the BlueScreen data were:

When the 2nd BlueScreen occurred, I immediately tried to find the 3 files shown under "Files that help describe the problem" before the BlueScreen closed, but could not locate them. I'd be appreciative for suggestions for interpreting the BlueScreen (BS) data, finding the relevant information files and other information sources to interpret the BS data and to better understand the underlying cause(s), and/or other information related to diagnosis of the triggers for the BS deaths.

Thanks for your attention and any suggestions and information.

Bog--Thanks for the BlueScreenView recommendation. I just installed it after two more blue screens and it quickly pointed out the errant driver responsible for all 7 crashes.

i used the program and it showed that most BSOD were caused by ntoskrnl.exe driver..

Put a Windows 7 DVD into your drive, boot from it, and select System Repair. A number of critical system files, including ntoskrnl.exe, will be replaced.

Format the OS partition and do a clean install. Then install all fixes via Windows Update. That should fix it.
Before install save all your user data of the OS partition!
