i'm not the SAAAVIEST woman out there but i'd like to think of myself as pretty well-rounded when it comes to technology but here i am LOST as all hell :/
I've had this HP notebook for a couple months now and just got the time to play around with it and customize it the way I want it.
So as I'm unpinning programs from my taskbar, I notice they go missing......
Most of them are programs like mozilla, or AIM, that i can go find in my programs but my CyberLink YouCam is COMPETELY gone!
I have NO idea where it went or how to get it back and the file under my programs says "(empty)"
Now when I went looking deep into the darkness of my hard drive, I find the YouCam folder, and I ran the set up....it says it detects Youcam already there so let it uninstall it....I said okay...then error this, error that, can't do this, can't do that...
I went looking on cnet.com for the YouCam program but if I already have it somewhere here and it won't let me uninstall, am I TOTALLY screwed?
help me, please![]()

Did you look at the device manager??? Is the camera there?
Go computer>system properties>device manager>imaging devices.
You are not screwed. It's not abig or uncommon problem.Go to device manager first and then you will take it from there. -
Try doing a search in the Start Menu (if you have Vista or Win7).

When i do a search for it in the start-menu, it just shows me the pictures i've taken with it.
when i go into system properties, etc etc, HP Webcam comes up and it says it's working properly. but i'm looking for the YouCam software that comes with the computer.
when i look through my hard drives, i find it, and run set-up, it still says i must uninstall it before i install it again bc it detects it there, but it's not here? and then it runs all these error messages.
and the software is not obtainable on cnet.com or anything like that.
is there anywhere else i can look for it? or figure out what is going on?
this might be stupid, but i lost my webcamming program! :/
