    hey fellows,.. s there ny way to power off the laptop screen like one we do in desktop monitor.??

    :eek: .. or is it a wrong place to put a hardware stuff..

    does your XPS have DCP? if it does... open it, go to Display and devices, Customize hot keys, and create a hotkey Toggle Displays Off/On (mine is mapped for Fn - D)

    on my notebook FN + F6 turns the backlight off (monitor is still on though)

    Some laptops have an Fn key combination.
    I think entropy.cz's post is the best with respect to answering your questuion.
