I have searched but can't find a good answer for this, can y'all help?
can I turn off those annoying popup boxes that display the first line or two of the thread when the pointer travels over the header?
is it a feature of windows or some other program on the computer or the forum itself?
    thanks guys

the "preview box" is known as a tooltip.

If youre runing firefox do this:

    1. type "about:config" (without quotes) into your address bar
    2. In the page that opens, in the filter text box type "browser.chrome.toolbar_tips" (without quotes)
    3. Double click the returned result
    4. restart firefox

I cant try this at the moment as i have a download running, but it should work.

well there's your first problem :p

If you still want to turn off tooltips in IE7 why dont you perform a google search with the bolded text and see what you find

Personally I like it. Let's me know if thread is worth reading...Especially if it has a stupid title like 'HELP!!!!' or 'Can I?'...

    thanks fusiveResonance,
I had tried to google it but I didn't know they were called tooltips so I didn't get very good results.
anyway it looks like it's more involved than I think I can handle. I sure dont think I want to go messin with the registry!
I guess I will just live with it.
    thanks anyway

Get Firefox and use the steps described above. Way better (and faster) browser than IE 7.

Majority of users will suggest using firefox as your primary browser.

    Firefox > IE7

On a side note, expect greater community support when you have issues with firefox as compared to IE7.
