When I reboot my computer I get an error message:
LogonUI.exe Corrupt File
The file or directory C:\PROGRA~1\CommonFiles\microsoftshared\ink is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility.
The check utility won't run. It tells me to schedule a scan next time Windows restarts, which I do, but it doesn't run.

Computer model, OS etc would be most helpful.

. Boot up from the installation disk, choose repair and then command prompt. Then run CHKDSK C: /X/B. This automatically dismounts the C: drive and runs the chkdsk command.
OR
. Repair installation

my computer is a Toshiba Satellite P305 Laptop
O/S is Windows Vista, 32-bit
Vista was installed on the laptop when I purchased it, so I don't have an installation disk.
Thanks for your help! -
Do you have a mean of recovery then?
cheers ... -
Download this file and burn to an ISO - start up and select repair. Same options as a Vista DVD (except does not have the programs files). Nice safety disk to have around - have used to repair several systems.
