so windows won't start! problem is its a c400 Dell and there is no floppy or cd drive. so i can't reinstall windows.
how can i get this fixed

You really need the cd drive so that you can run the repair utility to see if you can fix the mbr. It's also possible that your hard drive is dead.

I agree with atbnet...it's probably a bad (or at least going bad) Hard Drive. Do you have an external drive you can connect, as you may need to at least run some diagnostics from discs.

yeah i can but won't i need to install the drivers with the windows WIMP screen.
i'll prolly need to replace the HD -
Usually you can at least boot to an external drive. I would say give it a try.
