    Hi All

I have a Hp pavilion 9500 laptop with windows Vista home installed on it. However, I was trying to install WINDOWS SERVER 2003 BUT i keep getting an error that " it cannot detect my HDD which is a SATA HDD. I tried to install Xp i get the same error message. I proceeded to see if there was any settings in My BIOS but there isn't any. Someone told me that Server 2003 isn't no compatible with the SATA drive and I need to find the drivers on HP website. When i went to HP website there isn't any Drivers so what do i do now. Any help will be appreciated.

    Julie

Server 2003 doesn't have SATA controller that why you get the error, and it is the same case in Windows XP. You might want to find what is your chipset on your HP and go from there.

Why don't you keep your Vista and use virtualization for server 2003?

you will have to find a driver for the sata controller, and hit F6 when prompted by the cd to install the driver when installing 2003
