urgent help please!!!

i don't know where to put this in the forum for i'm not sure if my lappy has software or hardware problem.

i recently reinstalled my xp OS since my old os became unstable. everything goes really well except for one thing. when i finished installing the OS welcome screen and everything inside the OS have terrible distorted graphics but the xp boot screen works fine. when i tried to connect my lappy with crt monitor then it's working perfectly fine. i don't know what is going on with my lappy. What is the problem? is it hardware related (either my graphics card/ LCD)? or is it software related (maybe drivers or something like that)?

BTW i don't think the problem is on the LCD since when i view the dell welcome screen and the setup screen they are all ok.

I have dell inspiron 8200 with geforce 4 go video graphics (dedicated memory).

I think the problem is with the video driver.
Try to install a new one

 

Did you install all of the correct drivers?

Go to the above site, and download the nvidia GeForce 4 440 Go under Video drivers. This will install the video card driver which control yours Display, and will correct the problem.
