hello everybody,
i have vaio fz 140 ( old model) for which i upgraded the hard drive to western digital 500 gb and installed windows 7 on it.i bought the family pack of windows 7 home premium.
issue being-- unfortunately my western digital drive started throwing up feats.its curropting files but luckily i dint loose much precious data.but when i spoke with western digital india support.i was told to RMA the hard drive.its model no . is WD5000BEVT-75ZAT0.
now comes the error part.i have partitioned this drivee as 48 gb for C system.
222 GB for data pictures, songs and rest as work partition.
i imaged my hard drive with norton ghost 15.it has taken c system drive and 100 mb reserved partition in it.and all other partition's data i have copied to my external drive.
problematic part is i have to send this drive to western digital for rma and i have got my old drive (toshiba) which came with my laptop.i installed the 200 GB toshiba drive back in my laptop.i booted with my custom made symantec recovery disk and it does see the drive correctly and says that recovery complet with the recovery point.i dont get any norton ghost error but
when i boot my laptop with hard drive,it says boot loader missing and press ctrl alt del.
at this point i am stuck.
guys pls help me with this issue.
i tried different permutations combinations but i am not able to get my laptop working again with my old hard drive.i want to use my ghost image back on this drive.i have just 1 day with me.
help me fast guys.
regards,
Dr.Pratik.

restore the C drive to the new (or in your case old but working) drive and then boot from the Windows 7 setup disk. Tell it to fix errors. It should detect that your boot loader is not installed and fix it for you.
No need to reinstall. Just Repair using Win 7 DVD. -
thanks for fast reply.i will do it right away.
