Firefox portable owns. I store it on my 1GB flash drive and use it at school every day since they don't have a wireless network to use my computer. I still haven't figured out how to save the extensions though.

I use portable firefox. It is okay. Sometimes it seems slower that regular firefox but it is still okay.

I just hate using IE, and it's nice to have my bookmarks wherever I am using a computer.

I use a U3 compatable flashdrive, and on it I have installed Firefox, roboform and trillian. I am able to use all of these programs from any computer without actually installing any files or registry changes on those computers. It works quite well, and I do use it on a regular basis on computers I am fixing.
