I'd be appreciative for some information--what is a user_data folder and how do I locate it on my PC (specs in signature)? I searched my PC and the internet, but could not locate it or information about it, unless I simply missed it under my proverbial nose.
Thanks for reading and any information.

It would help to know the pertinent details. A user_data folder is pretty ambiguous. In general, program data per user is stored in %appdata% while program data for non specific users is stored in %allusersprofile%.

I apologize, the lack of details reflect my lack of knowledge of the user_data folder. My browser (Google-Chrome) has been unstable with several crashes and I am planning to uninstall the browser and perform a clean re-install. Deleting the user_data folder was recommended to me between the uninstall and re-install. I hope this narrows it down. Please let me know if other details are needed.
Thanks,

Follow this link for instructions on how to find your folder.
User Data Directory - The Chromium Projects
It even is quoting your same issue problem with Google Chrome -
Good luck and let us know how it goes. -
Thanks for the suggestion. I followed the link, but I admittedly could not find information on user data folders. I readily admit my ignorance on the topic could be the reason. I'd be much appreciative for further guidance on locating the user data folder in this link or other sources.

Here's the path for Windows 7 or Vista:
Google Chrome: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
If still want to delete it, that's your target folder. -
User Data is where all the programs store the user customized settings of the specific program.
It is not part of System Folders and it does not require Admin Permission to Write to (your settings is not stored in Program Files and legacy Programs uses C:\ProgramData).
It is the equivalent of the .Hiddenfolder in Linux inside the \home directory. -
First thing you need to do is show your hidden folders.
Open windows explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View > "show hidden files, folders, and drives"
You will not be able to find the folder to delete unless you do this first. You can then navigate to C:\Users\"paradoxguy"\AppData\Local\Google... blah blah blah. -
Thanks for the additional information on user_data folders, I think I understand them more now.
