Hi guys. My info is in my sig.

Sometimes, the battery icon beside the clock will appear, most of the time it won't. So I have to go through control panel > power options just to see where my batt. is at.

Anyway, I'm using "Mobile Meter" to show my temps and cpu speed. Unfortunately, it can not tap into the batt level, although it has an option to do so. What I like about it is that it can be used in transparency so I can see it no matter what window is on top of it.

Thanks and you are a great bunch. :)

There are Yahoo Widgets that will do that.

You may also use Notebook Hardware Control which is a useful utility not only for measuring the processor clock/temperature and the battery charge. :)

this looks like a nice program. Could someone try it on HP/Compaq and see if it works (I'm currently not on my laptop)?

I just downloaded and tried that notebook hardware control beta, seems nice. However it is severely limited and won't even let me set the cpu speed or anything. I guess I have to pay for it?

Be careful to use Yahoo! Widgets because they really slow down your computer. Make sure to have more than two widgets at once.

I downloaded that widget but I didn't know what to do with it. It had a different extension on it, it wasn't a .exe or .zip or anything. So I downloaded the other one mentioned in here on the first page. Works great and it's what I wanted.

Any app you run will slow down your PC, but did you buy the PC to just run benchmarks? That being said, I run 5 widgets (yes, I'm making sure to run more than 2!), and the Widget Engine uses ~2% of my CPU and <10MB of RAM, but I guess that will depend on the widgets and what they do. I have a clock, battery meter, weather app, WiFi signal meter, and cpu meter.
