I would like to know everyones thoughts about them? Which one do you think it is good? I am currently using phpBB3, and obviously notebookreview is based on vbulletin. And later on, i might need to edit user information, etc on file based (not using GUI). Which one is easier to do that. I am quite good in PERL. Somewhere between a PERLMonk and a PERL amateur. Which would you recommend?

Both suck...
I switched to SMF a year or two back, and haven't regretted it. More features, easier to use, easier to customize, easier to maintain, tons of plugins (which can be installed and removed safely using a plugin manager) and far far fewer security flaws.
What do you mean by editing user information? All 3 stores that stuff in a database, not a file. -
Whats the difference between each can u explain pls..
I am creating a Forum and need help -
Hmm.. can you edit the database to get user posts count?
@nocturnal310
you have to pay for vbulletin, phpbb is free.. havent check out smf yet.
User friendliness, phpbb
is a bit bad (well, i guess it's always hard to start) and upgrading, language pack installing if went bad will cause your site to collapse or unusable (i had tat once).
no idea with SMF or vbulletin yet.
vbulletin vs phpbb
