The description for Event ID ( 5005 ) in Source ( NETw4x32 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: , Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN.

    - so this is what I get after some time working over WiFi. Bunch of errors with code 5002 and 5005 pop out in the event viewer (system) and after some time the wifi card (4965agn) stops responding, and my tray icon becomes not responsive as well .. and I have to restart.

    some help is needed :)

the above scenario seems to happen when lots of traffic is used, i.e. when I start downloading a file or start watching a video. At first I though it's a power issue, but it might be something else.

my wifi: channel 1, NG mode, wpa2-psk, AES, 20MHz channel.

another laptop around here seems to work just fine :|

so the 5002 is: Network Adapter Failure
%2 : Has determined that the network adapter is not functioning properly.

and the 5005 is: Miniport Driver Configuration
%2 : Has encountered an internal error and has failed.

    - doesnt look good. Dang. I suppose it could be due to missing registry information as I've ran bunch of cleaners in the past (including registry cleaners). But then I've reinstalled the driver itself so that should not be the reason ...

    EDIT:

OK, I've managed to solve the freezing problem (or not as it looks) as it was due to some services that were set as Manual instead of Automatic start. However, I'm still getting the same messages in the event viewer /system.

well .. still having the same problems. From time to time I get the errors but the wifi link keeps recovering thus keeps active. But then when it gets stuck I have to reboot, and at that time windows gives me "Connection tray not responding"

still searching for help on how to fix this problem :(

How about give the comp a good new start? Back up your personal data and perform a clean install?

    cheers ...

it has clean install from before, and would like not to do it again due to the tons of software I have installed right now (~200gb). Besides I'm just using windows to manage the wifi and not other 3rd party software.

I've reinstalled the wifi drivers, I've tried older drivers, I've changed settings on my wifi network (different channel, encryption (AES woth TKIP), speed, changing the guard wifi intervals from short to long, changing form 40 to 20MHz channel width, disabling QoS engine, etc). I'm always on N-mode though, so will try with on G only I guess ...

I've tried disabling the power management over the WIFI card from windows as well. I've tried the repair option of the installed drivers and all ran fine.

I havent reinstalled the hotkey software that comes with the laptop that provides hotkeys for enabling and disabling the wireless cards though, so will try that as well, but it works fine until the moment all goes down. Then it says the card is off and I can not turn it back on, even with the dedicated wifi button on the laptop itself :( Upon restart I get "connection tray not responding error"

I've also ran MemTest so I know my RAM modules are fine.

I plan on reflashing my BIOS as well since I'm using a modified version to enable bunch of locked options on my laptop, but I have the feeling this wont help since the card is working fine until heavy loading occurs.

kind of unlucky for me to find that after some 4+ years of using the laptop mostly on wired internet, lol.

Make sure that your OS is up to date, the CORRECT drivers are in place for your Intel wifi card, and undo ALL of the services tweaks you may have put in.........

    FIXED .. well sort of.

I put new wifi card and no more issues. I went with Intel 5300agn as being the last model that came in full mini PCI-e size and has 3 antennas. And I was able to do that because I'm using hacked bios that removes the whitelist that lenovo puts in their laptops, thus restricting the models of wifi cards that can be used.

two hours of youtube videos and not a single disconnect or error, and there are 15 networks around ATM :D
