I know this is not really a dell specific series of questions, but since they pertain to my new dell inspiron 6000d notebook, I thought I'd ask them here.

anyway, my system is 2.0 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 100 GB HD, Angel External USB Tuner, Windows MCE.

I can capture video using the Sonic utility from within windows no problem, that part is fine. The first problem I'm having though is when I'm in the MCE interface, I can't get through the TV Tuner setup without doing the whole IR Blaster thing. I have Directv, with a DTivo setup, so I really don't want this thing to be changing my channels etc, I just want to be able to record the live/currently playing stream (ie using 'record to vcr' from the tivo interface). Is there any way to use the video capture in the MCE interface without doing the IR blaster part of the setup?

My 2nd question is, I have Nero 6 ultimate edition, but it doesn't recognize my Angel capture device. Is there anything I can do about that, or am I stuck using the Sonic utilities since they do recognize the device?

My last questions is, what are people using to edit their tv captures? I don't have Adobe Premiere. I want to get rid of the commercials from what I captured, are there other recommended programs?

    Thanks.
