i'd like to know the problem why my video stream in IE8 has only sound but not image?
the specific site installed an .ocx add-on (which they call ActiveXFinder control).

It works on one of my WIN7 computer but not the other. Both have k-lite full pack codecs installed and win7 codecs if this helps....

been playing with the settings, install/uninstall, restore,... nothing seems to work... :( :(

OCX add-ons are a GREAT vector for malware. You shouldn't need one for video.

    ok a lil more details...
i've set up a device that lets me watch my tv channels on IE anywhere as long as i have internet connection. like those slingbox.
and to be able to watch those channels, it has to have that add-on. I don't know what kind of video format it's streaming though...

Can you tell us what device? It's very hard to debug things without all the information. It's possible that the K-Lite codec packs are causing the issue. They can often confuse the heck out of the system by having so many different codecs that can all decode the same videos. I find that installing ffdshow for Windows is a much more solid option.
