i'm using vista home premium at the moment
and just wonder how to view the process of disk defragmenting?
as you know in XP we can see the progress of disk defragmenting
(showing bad sector or good factor with colored line etc)
-
um apparently you cant unless you use a third party program
-
3rd part software like auslogic disk defrag (free
)and diskeepeer (paid version) can do that.
-
wonder why MS removed that function in vista..
-
Because people would of found out how long it actually takes to do it with the built in software.
-
The built-in defragger runs in the background, so you don't need to worry about it finishing. It's not mean to be run by the user, which is why it doesn't give a real GUI.
view disk defragmenting process (vista)
