I have a .vcd of a memorial of the life of a local politician that I can't play on my R4000.
    Is this a software issue?

Does the file end with .VCD or are you saying it's a VCD disc? If it ends with .VCD, that means you need a proper app to access the data.

I just did a check on what .VCD files are, and it turns out to be a Virtual CD Image (almost like an .ISO). You can use WinISO to access the files and view it on your computer.

If it's an actual VCD movie CD, then all you need is a compatible player (Media Player should work just fine). VCD discs are compressed using the MPEG 1 standard and that's pretty much compatible everywhere. If it's not working, then there's a problem with your OS. You can also play VCD discs in a standard DVD player (in most, but not all).
