Hi.
when i had my acer laptop with vista.
their was a vista console in the control panel that allowed you to select the processor speed, 3 setting, display brightness, wifi and bluetooth enable disable and a couple of other setting, it was a vista utils.
But i cannot find it now i have a desktop is it a laptop only thing.![]()
any help would be appiciated.

It may be only a laptop thing but its more likely it was a Acer Laptop only thing. Im curious as to why a desktop needs Processor speed, brightness and power options; the only reason a laptop has them is to reduce battery drain but your desktop is theoretically plugged in no?

Sadly tinderbox, your power supply will pull Xwatts no matter how much is actively being used... Say its a 800watt power supply and you down clock everything to use less than it normally does... It will still draw 800watts, the same is true for the screen which may not even have dimming options.
