    Hi.

will vista 64 accept my vista 32 licence number, so i can try it and see which i prefer.

If i have already registered my Vista32 will it allow me to register Vista64

As i am thinking of upgrading to 4GB of memory.

    thanks

    John.

Yeah, although you will have to make sure you are installing the same 'version' of Vista - i.e. 64bit Home Prem if you have a 32bit Home Prem license.

If you have gotten 2 disks when you purchased the OS, then the same serial applies.
I got both 32/64bit Vista when I purchased my laptop, and the same serial applies for both of them.
If you purchased them retail, they should have different serials.

    yes it will accept it

well in paper, i remember the licence says you can only have one version active at any given time. or was it one version installed?

i dont see anything wrong aslong as your only using one instance of the licence key

Windows update might react differently after the latest updates, i dont know

The yes, John. The same serial will work without issues. But as far as I know you can only have one version installed, just as Flipfire said.

Vista runs perfectly on 2 Gb. I had it without issues. Although at times I felt the need for 4Gb, it runs perfectly and games also run without issues.
But 4 Gb is a must for Vista, especially 64 bit, since it can use it all.

you will find x64 exactly the same as x86, maybe even slower

the only difference is it says 64bit Operating System on the System type

    Hi.

It has 2 "program files" directory`s 1 for 32bit and 1 for 64bit, I dont think the 64bit will be seeing much action.

    regards

    John.

    Hi

    With 2GB in vista32 i normal have 1350mb free with vista64 i have only 1130.

So an upgrade to 4GB is better sooner then later.

    regards

    John.
