what should i go for 64 bit sounds better but in the rea world am i gonong to be stuck with a os that has no drivers or very few games and programs that work?
-
If you've got the drivers, then x64.
-
64-bit will allow 4GB of RAM, so if your accesories have the available drivers, as mentioned, then yes, get 64-bit to make it future proof. I know Lithus(NBR user), has a 64-bit guide, so if you browse around here, yo may be able to find one of his posts and the link is in his sig.

I decided to not be lazy an looked for it

64 Bit is great if you have the patience to ensure it is installed properly. There are many around that will help and all drivers are within your reach.
As for programs, 64bit runs many 32bit programs better than 32 bit does. It is also much more stable and...well it's just nice using a 64Bit processor at the level it was built for.
Ask yourself this....why is it everyone who moves over to 64Bit would never go back? Check out Team x64 on the site as it grows daily... -
just read all the post but even more confused just want the best thats all and if thats 64bit then i will go for that just dont want to be stuck with 64 if it wont run anything or my games
-
First off, please type PROPERLY. Use some periods and some correct grammar if you expect people to help you. It is so hard to read your posts.
Secondly, there is NO clear best. It all really depends on what works for you. If you have the hardware and the drivers to enable your hardware, then 64 bit is the best.
If you do not have the hardware to run 64 bit then 32 bit is best for you...

I'd say go with 64-bit becomes more or likely you'll upgrade to 4GB of ram with Vista (Vista just loves memory..
).
-
check your printer drivers and any other hardware that you frequently use. If you can find the drivers, go with the 64 bit
-
Theoretically in 2008 everything must work...

Talking about older hardwares
-
do all or nearly all games support 64bit?
-
-
Most games work on 64bit, all of my games still work.

However, I would say ( to 49p) from what your understanding of hardware and software appears to be, as well as from what it seems you're looking to do. 32bit (x86) would be better suited for you. It's much more common and has much more mainstream support. -

Ohh right, a true 64bit game. I dont know any so far..
49P : Save yourself the hassles and just go with 32bit. -
After reading this guy's replies after all the guides and such, I really don't think he wants to take the time to learn any of it. He's just looking for "handouts." In other words, he's just looking for people on here to give him the answers to everything. I'm not trying to start any internet wars, but I really think its wrong to expect such things without putting in any real effort to "do-it-yourself."
vista 64bit or 32bit
